SCORE SHEETS FOR WEEK 9 OF THE SUMMER 2016 SEASON

Moose Lodge 1 at Carpinteria Knights
CARPINTERIA KNIGHTS WINS 8 - 7
The Knights won 8 of the first 11 games and beat visiting Moose Lodge 1 by an 8-7 score.   Paul Nelson led Carp with three wins and moved into the top-five in 'B' Division.   Nelson's win in game 11 gave the Knights an 8-3 lead, but that cushion quickly melted away after the Moose swept the remaining four games.   Ismael Reyes and Gerardo Guerrero had two wins each to lead the Moose.   Gerardo and Moose captain Mario Reyes both had table runs.   As a result of this match and the two Sportsman matches, 2nd thru 5th place in 'B' is totally up for grabs.   3rd place Moose Lodge 1 (6-3) and 4th place Carp Knights (6-3) are sandwiched between 2nd place Sportsman Nuggets (6-3) and 5th place Sportsman Trojans (6-3).   A mere five game wins separates these four teams.
Sportsman Trojans at Moose Lodge 2
MOOSE LODGE 2 WINS 9 - 6
Moose Lodge 2 and the Sportsman Trojans had another one of their classic battles Tuesday, and in this meeting the Moose finished strong and beat the Trojans 9-6.   'A' Division leader Ismael Huerta started his night off with a break-and-run, giving the Moose an early 3-1 lead.   Sportsman's Jim Steele answered with the first of his three wins, and after teammate Sami Severson notched her second win of the match, the Tojans had evened the score at 3-3.   The two teams went on to trade wins thru the second frame, and at the start of the beer frame the score was knotted at 5-5.   The Moose quickly reached the hill after Alfonso Lazaro and Ramon Rodriguez beat Leana Finley and Robert Rosa.   Steele's third win gave the Trojans a fleeting chance at a comeback, but Huerta slammed the door shut on Sportsman with his game 14 win over Bob McLean.   Alfonso, Ramon, Ismael, and Rigo Morales were all two-game winners for 2nd place Moose Lodge 2 (8-1).   The loss was costly for the Sportsman Trojans (6-3) as it dropped them all the way back to 5th place.   A win could have lifted the Trojans as high as 2nd place.
Break Time Otters at Moose Lodge 3
MOOSE LODGE 3 WINS 8 - 7
Captain Juan Manzo opened his night with a break-and-run and finished the match with a hill-hill win to give 11th place Moose Lodge 3 (1-8) their first victory of the season.   The Moose took the first three games and never trailed the 6th place Otters (4-5).   Break Time captain Michael Craig led his squad with three wins; his first three-win match since a January 5th meeting with this same Monty's team.
Break Time Travelers at Sportsman Nuggets
SPORTSMAN NUGGETS WINS 13 - 2
The Sportsman Nuggets (6-3) got huge three-win performances by four of their players, and as a result they were able to zoom past three teams and land in 2nd place in 'B' Division.   Nuggets Adriana Balanda, Andy Reagan, Rachel Johnson, and Anthony Saenz all went 3-for-3.   Chris Harton and Brandon Luehrs scored the two game wins for the 7th place Travelers (4-5).
Mel's Lounge 1 at Don Q's 1
DON Q'S 1 WINS 12 - 3
3rd place Don Q's 1 (7-2) stumbled early in their match against visiting Mel's Lounge, but thanks to three-game winners Ed Drayton and Brian Shillington, Don Q's was able to sweep the last two frames.   Drayton opened the match with a break-and-run and teammate Sean O'Brien ended his night with a table run.   Drayton's 40 points moved him into 4th place in 'A' Division.   Kai Duex table ran Jim Holloway to give 9th place Mel's Lounge 1 (2-7) an early 2-1 lead.
Don Q's Sharks at Mel's Cartel
DON Q'S SHARKS WINS 8 - 7
The 1st place Don Q's Sharks (8-1) had their hands full with host Mel's Cartel, but a timely four-game win streak late in the match helped secure an 8-7 victory and create a two win cushion between themselves and the rest of 'B' Division.   The Cartel's offensive attack was bolstered by Matt Nordin's three wins.   The two teams went back and forth thru the first two frames, and after Nordin won his second game, the 8th place Cartel (3-6) went into the lead for the first time at 5-4.   The Sharks recovered to take the next four games and the match.   Don Q's was led by two-game winners Matt Carr, Stephen Bluett, and Cyril Muckenhirn.
Monty's Misfits at Break Time Underdogs
MONTY'S MISFITS WINS 13 - 2
Ernesto Sanchez, Jorge Salcedo, and John Bushnell combined for nine game wins to power the 5th place Misfits (6-3) to a 13-2 victory.   Dennis Brodigan and Nic Lopez had the two game wins for the 11th place Underdogs (1-8).
Carp & Linden Pub 2 at Don Q's Badgers
DON Q'S BADGERS WINS 10 - 5
Reno King had three wins and a break-n-run to help the 4th place Badgers (7-2) double up on Carp 2.   Reno and Badger captain Jeremy Warner both broke and ran their first frame games, and Don Q's took an early 4-1 lead.   Two-game winner Scott Fleming helped Carp take 4 of 6 in the second frame to close the gap to 6-5, but Don Q's won the last four games to secure the victory.   With the loss, Carp & Linden Pub 2 (4-5) fell to 7th place.
Uptown Lounge 1 at Break Time Slash n Burn
UPTOWN LOUNGE 1 WINS 11 - 4
Bo Criss and Pete Conover were both 3-for-3 in Uptown's 11-4 victory at Break Time.   Slash 'n Burn's Jon Hernandez opened the first two frames with wins and Break Time was close at the halfway point, but 6th place Uptown Lounge (5-4) took 6 of 7 late in the match to win going away.   10th place Break Time Slash 'n Burn fell to 1-8.
Don Q's 2 at Break Time Bunch
BREAK TIME BUNCH WINS 13 - 2
Undefeated Break Time Bunch moved to 9-0 with their 13-2 home win over 8th place Don Q's 2 (2-7).   Mike Rys, George Guerrero, and Parker Hamilton combined for nine game wins for the Bunch.   Captain Keith Baugher and Ace Guerrero got the lone game wins for Don Q's.
Break Time Ball Busters at Monty's 2
MONTY'S 2 WINS 10 - 5
9th place Monty's 2 (2-7) posted their second match win of the season, a 10-5 victory over the 10th place Ball Busters (2-7) of Break Time.   Led by Susan Huyler's two game wins, Break Time jumped out to a 4-2 lead.   Three-game winner Justin Drewisch helped Monty's recover and win 8 of the last 9 games.
